The APSMO Fellowship
We are pleased to announce the APSMO Fellowship.
The fellowship is intended to assist teachers of primary and secondary school mathematics to develop skills and understanding through professional development projects to enrich their teaching and ultimately Australasian mathematics education.
Through this Fellowship, APSMO Inc will assist the successful applicants with sponsorship for specific projects or for attendance at workshops, conferences or similar.
Eligibility for Consideration:
All Australian and New Zealand school teachers, either citizens or people normally resident in Australia or New Zealand, may apply for the Fellowship.
APSMO Inc does not grant Fellowships for the gaining of academic or professional qualifications. However, short courses that form part of an eligible project will be considered.
Applicants must be able to indicate that the project will benefit mathematics teaching in schools.
Conditions of the Fellowship:
Fellowships will normally be undertaken between 1 November and 31 October the following year. Requests to vary these dates will be considered.
Recipients must return to their position in an Australian or New Zealand school when they complete their projects.
Recipients must submit a full report on their projects within two months of the completion of the Fellowship in both paper copy and electronic format. These reports are made available to the general public via the APSMO website.
The APSMO Board are responsible for all decisions regarding the Fellowship.
Applications must be received by APSMO by 31 August for the Fellowship beginning in the following November.
Value of the Fellowship:
The Fellowship will make a contribution to the all-inclusive costs of the successful applicant.
Applicants are expected to meet not less than 20% of the total estimated costs and must be prepared to contribute more if they are able.
The fellowship grant will be a maximum of $5000 AUD to be distributed amongst all Awardees.

Applications close 31 August 2010. Applications received after 5pm Sydney time on this date will not be accepted.
Applications must be sent by post. Electronic applications will not be accepted.
