Division J (Junior)
- Questions are set at a standard suitable to students at a level equivalent to NSW School Year 5 or 6.
- Competing students must not be older than 12 years of age at the 1st May of the current year and must be in the equivalent of NSW School Year 6 (NZ School Year 7) or below.
- Students from Year 4 or below may enter the Olympiads, however they may find the questions particularly challenging.

B. (Time: 5 minutes)
Each of 8 boxes contains one or more marbles. Each box contains a different number of marbles, except for two boxes which contain the same number of marbles.
What is the smallest total number of marbles that the 8 boxes could contain?
C. (Time: 5 minutes)
Find the whole number which is:
less than 100;
a multiple of 3;
a multiple of 5;
odd, and such that,
the sum of its digits is odd.
D. (Time: 6 minutes)
Takeru has four 1 centimetre long blocks, three 5 centimetre long blocks, and three 25 centimetre long blocks. By joining these blocks to make different total lengths, how many different lengths of at least 1 centimetre can Takeru make?
E. (Time: 6 minutes)
The figure below is made up of 5 congruent squares. The perimeter of the figure is 72 cm. Find the number of square cm in the area of the figure.
